"The names might not be that familiar, but The Blak Prophetz have actually been kicking out hip-hop jams since the late 70's/early 80's. Sure Shot return on Fatt Jointz with a 12" just steeped in class. Raw, lyrically upfront and built on real head-nodding grooves, all tracks on show display an undeniable sound but the beats are straight outta the New York underground and should easily see the duo crossing onto all the best dancefloors. Don't know The Blak Prophetz? Well, prepare to be converted!"

Mike Lewis - Editor Hip Hop Connection Magazine UK/USA

"After a long time away Blak ProphetZ return stronger than ever. Their latest single 'With Fx' / 'The Maddest Style' (Fatt JointZ) has a beat as catchy as a Primo production and vocals that sound fresh from the streets of NY. Sure Shot will be dropping nuggets on us throughout the year so watch this space".

RWD Magazine - UK/Europe

"Side A kicks in with a laid back beat with KRS chopped into a la Premo style, laying the foundation for the MCs to get subliminal with lines like 'A stranger to my own planet, I spit pain through 13 stories of granite'. Flip it over to the B side 'Maddest Style' and you'll find an subtly offbeat track the MC spices up with old skool references and clever lyrics".

Blues & Soul Magazine - Editor - USA/Europe

It¹s been out for a minute, but the Blak Prophetz' 'With FX' is still worthy of a mention. Boasting possibly the best Premier beat that Primo didn't actually produce, the duo bounce witty lines off one another whilst the choppy, up tempo beat slaps the shit out of your speakers. 'The Maddest Style' is more of the same - well-produced underground Hip Hop. Originally from the UK but now based in NY, crate-diggers out there might recognize this pair from their time with the Kold Sweat label.

A’ight as far as ill shit goes on an independent level its either good or bad, no real in between. Well you really want to get in on the ground floor?. Dont sleep on these cats. If Fatt Jointz continues to put out gems like This Blak Prophetz single then they are in to make some loot. For real, the beats on this record are just nice as hell, the production is dope, and the flows are dope. What else can we say, but why the hell have'nt these cats been discovered yet?. DONT SLEEP.

So the Blak Prophetz have finally decided to return to the scene and it did take a while. Never the less, they have not lost their touch and although they are not breaking any boundaries they are delivering power packed Hip Hop which finds its origins in New York and embodies the spirit of the early 90's. If you see this in the racks, give it a spin.

It’s nice, and a good effort. I like the first cat a lil, the second better, third cat is okay. They all flow the same, but its okay- nice for a listen. The style has been touched before but they shine nicely. The hook is done nice with scratched samples too.

Angefangen hat alles unter dem Namen "The Audio Kingz". Damals, 1986.

"The dopest underground producers, Sure Shot & Willie Bee, have decided to come out into the open to show their raw talent for producing some of the best Hip Hop over the years. Since 1979, DJ Sure Shot has been putting it down, producing and rapping.  The Blak ProphetZ bring you neck snappin, mind blowin, New York styled beats, putting them ahead of all the others. The ProphetZ are underground giants, and with this release, the whole world will finally be able to recognize this duo for many years to come. A must have for any real hip-hop head. Don't sleep folks… you'll thank me later".
