When the Blak Prophetz have some free time to crawl out of
the studio you might find them getting involved in wide range of TV
commercials instrumental music and or voice overs.
Mentos Fruity 3
High Rider TV Commercials
A worldwide popular and incredibly funny TV commercial which features the classic tune entitled "What Is Rap" by Blak Prophetz. This was launched November 2010 and in conjunction with this commercial Sure Shot had remixed and released the track again.
The original version of 'What Is Rap' can be
found on the Blak Prophetz album entitled 'The 2 Coming'
which was released in 2005. The lyrics was performed and
written by Sure Shot and the track received a great
response which lead Sure Shot heading back into the
studio to remix it again (The Mix tape Remix) by laying
down a more fat street beat to compliment his vocals.
This received an even greater response globally as the
track was hand selected by Josh Mohr (USA International
Surfing Champion) seen here
http://youtu.be/lWVywub_9DU to be used on the One True Media Nascar TV Commercial campaign.
It wasn't until 2010 when the track got selected
again for another TV commercial. This time it was Mentos
the sweet giants who favoured this track and found
it to be a perfect match for their new Fruity 3 Global
TV Marketing campaign. The media took a great liking to
this track and once again Sure Shot headed to the studio
to produce another remix, This time he gave it a more
harder edge sound and the track also featured a guest
appearance from Afrika Bambaataa. The TV commercial
advert was worldwide and a year has passed since the
campaign was launched.
Sure Shot received some great news as Mentos were so
pleased with the chosen track it has now been
re-licensed for use on the campaign again. A great track
used with a great brand...go get it..
Hasbro Monopoly Games
Launched by Hasbro, Monopoly in March 2010, they chose the crazy voice of Sure Shot aka the Blak Prophetz
and the zany music created for this TV advert was also
done by the Blak Prophetz.
Done with no sound effects or vocal trickery this
was on record the most fun day the guys had ever had in
the studio. The voice over was done in Soho, London Studios and the music was created in the Fattjointz Recording Studio UK. This advert is still currently running on all children's channels in
and across UK and Europe.
